Today Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook Profile that Facebook had just reached 1 Billion Monthly Active Users.
This is a huge achievement for Facebook who has doubled it’s active users of 500 million since 2010.
An active user has been defined as a user who interacts some way with Facebook whether it be via mobile, facebook.com or another third party site with Facebook integration. You can find out more in this New York Times article.
